Pitt will host a traveling exhibition on ‘Lessons from The Tree of Life’ starting March 27

The University of Pittsburgh will soon host a traveling exhibition that will challenge visitors to reflect on the impact of antisemitism in America and seeks to inspire action to build a future rooted in resilience and understanding.

Specifically, the exhibition will showcase items from the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting at the Tree of Life building in Squirrel Hill while highlighting the community’s collective response to the attack as residents rallied to vocally oppose antisemitism and hate.

The exhibition, “Lessons from The Tree of Life: Lighting the Path Forward,” will feature curated artifacts and personal testimonies from the Oct. 27, 2018, attack. It will open to the public and Pitt students on March 27 and run through April 25 at the University Club Library.

After Pittsburgh, the exhibition will travel to Cleveland, New York and Miami over the next year. Find hours and more information online.

The exhibition is presented in partnership with the Rauh Jewish History Program and Archives at the Heinz History Center and with support from the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh and the Ford Foundation.
