4 Pitt faculty won the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Doctoral Mentoring

Now in its 20th year, the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Doctoral Mentoring recognizes outstanding mentors who substantially impact University of Pittsburgh students seeking research doctorate degrees.

The honor, presented annually by the Office of the Provost to up to four faculty members, includes a $2,500 prize.

The 2025 recipients are:

  • Heidi Donovan, School of Nursing and School of Medicine
  • Burcu Savun, Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences
  • Vanitha Swaminathan, Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business
  • David Vorp, Swanson School of Engineering

This year’s reception to honor the awardees and nominees is 3-5 p.m. March 26 in the O’Hara Student Center First Floor Ballroom.
