For the second consecutive year, University of Pittsburgh Chancellor Joan Gabel is a Pittsburgh Business Times Power 100 honoree.

Among the reasons for Gabel’s inclusion, the publication cited work to develop the University’s new strategic plan, the Plan for Pitt 2028, including its “numerous goals for the university to achieve in the next several years,” from “bolster[ing] Pitt’s name on a national stage” to “oversee[ing] the continued progress toward Pitt’s new and groundbreaking BioForge facility at Hazelwood Green.”

Gabel was joined on the list, which honors “the region’s most influential business leaders,” by Emeritus Trustee Lou Cestello, trustees Bryan Salesky (ENGR ’02) and Kevin Walker, and 13 alumni:

  • Jeff Broadhurst (KGSB ’93)
