Pitt is closed June 19 in observance of Juneteenth

The University of Pittsburgh will be closed Friday, June 19, for Juneteenth, the federal holiday marking the end of slavery in the United States.

Most operations will pause for the day, and faculty and staff will have the paid holiday off. A few campus services will have the following adjusted hours:

Transit: Pitt campus shuttles, including SafeRider, will not run on the holiday. Regular summer schedule services will resume Monday, June 22.

Health: Student Health Services, including the Counseling Center and University Pharmacy, are closed for all University holidays. They will reopen at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 22.

Dining: See Pitt Eats’ hours of operation.

Panther Central: The Panther Central office will close at 11 p.m. June 18 and reopen at 11 p.m. June 19. Staff can be reached by phone at 412-648-1100 or by chat on the Panther Central website.
