Reminder: Submit Community Engaged Scholarship Forum Proposals and Award Nominations

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to submit workshop proposals and nominate partnerships and peers for awards for the 2021 Community Engaged Scholarship Forum, “Progress Through Partnerships: Advancing Community Resilience.”

The third annual event brings together Pitt and external community members to present their community-engaged work, discover new avenues of partnership and network with those who do similar work and will take place virtually on March 2, 2021.

More than 250 people attended last year’s CESF, “Progress Through Partnerships: Building Momentum Together,” which featured breakout sessions, panel discussions and poster presentations from 16 schools and offices across the University. Read more about the 2020 CESF.

Proposals for workshop and panel presentation

Workshops and posters should feature partnered scholarly work that seeks to address societal concerns. Proposals related to racial justice, equity and inclusion are especially welcomed this year. The planning committee values and will prioritize workshops that present information on community engaged teaching and learning, community research and the practice of engagement.

Nominations for awards and honors

In addition to the Senior Vice Chancellor for Engagement’s Partnerships of Distinction awards, which are reflective of Pitt’s highest community engagement aspirations, nominations for the Soska Wilds Outreach and Engagement Leadership Award and CESF Collaboration Champion Award are being accepted.

Submit a proposal or a nomination online by Friday, Nov. 20, 2020. Download the full request for proposals for more details.
