Recycle Your Bicycle

The Pitt Bike Cave is partnering with Point Breeze-based bicycle collective Free Ride in a Recycle Your Bicycle donation drive March 8-13.

Bicycles in any condition—rideable or not—will be accepted, along with bike parts, bike tools, bike clothing and other bike gear.

Donations benefit Free Ride and the Bike Cave and all donated bikes will be recycled back into the community through donation, volunteer hours exchange or resale.

Donations will be accepted at The Bike Cave, located on campus in the Posvar Passage, at the following times:

Wednesday, March 10, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

  • March 11, 4-7 p.m.
  • March 12, 1-6 p.m.
  • March 13, noon-4 p.m.

Donations will be accepted at Free Ride, 214 N. Lexington Street, Pittsburgh 15208, at the following times:

  • March 9-10, 5-8 p.m.
  • March 13, noon-2 p.m.

Drop-offs will only be accepted during the listed donation hours. Face coverings and physical distancing guidelines must be followed.

The Pitt Bike Cave is a student-run bike maintenance teaching shop where members of the Pitt community can fix their bikes and purchase refurbished bikes and cycling essentials. Additional information can be found on the Bike Cave’s Facebook page.
