Emerging Filmmakers Honored at the Second Japan Documentary Film Award

Join The Japan Council of the University of Pittsburgh and the Asian Studies Center's SCREENSHOT: ASIA Sept. 24-26 at the second biennial University of Pittsburgh Japan Documentary Film Awards. The grand prize winner is "An Ant Strikes Back" (Ari Jigoku Tengoku), directed by Tokachi Tsuchiya, and an honorable mention goes to "Book-Paper-Scissors" (Tsutsunde, Hiraite), directed by Nanako Hirose.

Starting Sept. 24, the films will be screened virtually on our Vimeo channel and will include an introduction by the filmmaker and a Q&A discussion of the film with the director. See general information about the award and the schedule for the virtual events and screenings.
